About me

I've spent more than a decade building and supporting enterprise web applications, most of it in the Microsoft stack: C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server, with JavaScript filling in the front end. The industries have ranged from trucking compliance to warehouse logistics to benefits administration, which is a polite way of saying the software has to be right, because someone's audit, inventory, or benefits depend on it.

The work has covered most of the lifecycle. I started out writing and testing software for the electronic logging devices in commercial trucks, splitting my time between development and QA. Since then I've built RFID-backed container tracking for warehouses, moved years of data out of legacy systems without losing a row, reworked database structures to cut expensive joins out of hot queries, and delivered the kind of reporting business users actually open.

Along the way I've worked on Agile teams, reviewed a lot of code, and picked up whatever the job needed: Vue and Docker one year, Xamarin and SSRS another, AWS along the way. The common thread is untangling a messy problem and shipping something maintainable, which is the part I'd do anyway.
