Account
Everything on this site works without one. This page is the opt-in half: a passkey, if you want the apps that keep real history to follow you between devices, and notifications, if you want the occasional heads-up. Both are off until you turn them on.
Notifications
Off by default. Turn them on for this device to get the occasional heads-up, like a Michigan season opener coming up. Permission is asked only when you opt in, and you can turn it off here anytime.
Sync with a passkey
Optional, and off until you add one. A passkey lets the apps that store real history — the Workout Log, the Garden Soil Planner, and the Trip Journal — follow you between devices. No email, no password; the passkey stays in your device's keychain and the server holds nothing but your own app data.
Units & format
How distances, temperatures, and times read across every app on this site. Stored on this device, and carried between your devices if you turn on sync.
How sync works
- Your device creates a passkey (Face ID, fingerprint, or screen lock) scoped to this site. The private key never leaves your device.
- Signing in on another device with the same passkey (or one synced by your platform's keychain) connects it to the same data.
- The apps push changes in the background as you use them; the newest edit of each data set wins.
- Sign out any device from here; delete an app's data on Your Data and the empty state syncs like any other change.
- An account nobody opens for 30 days is deleted — passkey, synced data and all. Opening this site on a signed-in device is enough to reset that, so an account you use never lapses. Your on-device copy is untouched either way: it lives in this browser, and Your Data can export it any time.
Looking for what is actually stored, what it weighs, or a button to export or delete it? That is on Your Data, and none of it needs an account.
